Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Council (EYCS)

The Council configuration on Education, Youth, Culture and Sports (EYC) consists of the Ministers (or State Secretaries) of Education, Youth and/or Culture and Sports.

In the Council of the European Union, the ministers from the EU Member States take a joint decision on the policy to be implemented within the EU. The Council is supported by the Committee of Permanent Representatives, which prepares decisions and guards the implementation and adherence of the decisions monitored by the Council.

The Council holds four formal meetings a year. The EU presidency is free to organise informal meetings as well.

The Council configuration on Education, Youth, Culture and Sports is a merge of the Education- and Youth Council and the Cultural and Audiovisual Council.
