establishing a list of arbitrators pursuant to Article 29.8 of the Agreement

THE CETA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada, of the one part, and the European Union and its Member States, of the other part ('the Agreement'), and in particular Article 29.8 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)In accordance with Article 30.7.3 of the Agreement, parts of the Agreement have been applied provisionally since 21 September 2017.

(2)Pursuant to Article 29.8.1 of the Agreement, the CETA Joint Committee is to establish a list of at least 15 individuals who are willing and able to serve as arbitrators. The list of arbitrators is to be composed of three sub-lists: one sub-list for each Party and one sub-list of individuals who are not nationals of either Party to act as chairpersons,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

1.The list of arbitrators for the purposes of Article 29.8 of the Agreement as set out in the Annex is hereby established.

2.This Decision takes effect on the date of its adoption by the CETA Joint Committee.
