table>(1)The Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Cape Verde on facilitating the issue of short-stay visas to citizens of the Republic of Cape Verde and of the European Union (2) (‘the Agreement’) entered into force on 1 December 2014.
(2)Article 10 of the Agreement provides that a Joint Committee of experts (‘the Committee’) is to be set up by the Parties.

(3)Article 10(4) of the Agreement provides that the Committee is to establish its rules of procedure. The rules of procedure are necessary to organise the work of the Committee which has been assigned the task of managing the Agreement and of monitoring its implementation.

(4)It is therefore appropriate to establish the position to be adopted on the Union's behalf within the Committee, with regard to the adoption of the rules of procedure of the Committee,
