Article 1

The Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the European Union and the Government of Malaysia is hereby approved on behalf of the Union.

The text of the Agreement is attached to this Decision.

Article 2

The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy shall chair the Joint Committee established under Article 50 of the Agreement.

Article 3

The President of the Council shall designate the person empowered to proceed, on behalf of the Union, to the notification provided for in Article 59 of the Agreement[, in order to express the consent of the Union to be bound by the Agreement].

Article 4

This Decision shall enter into force on the day [following that] of its adoption.
