Contents

Article 1

The Cooperation Agreement on Partnership and Development between the European Union and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is hereby approved on behalf of the European Union.

The text of the Agreement is attached to this Decision.

Article 2

The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy shall chair the Joint Committee established under Article 49 of the Agreement.

Article 3

The President of the Council shall designate the person empowered to proceed, on behalf of the European Union, to the notification provided for in Article 58 of the Agreement.

Article 4

This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its adoption.
