Article 1

Regulation (EC) 866/2004 is amended as follows:

In Article 4, the following paragraph shall be inserted:

'4a. With regard to goods covered by a name registered under Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down a regime on quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs, and for which the geographical scope includes areas of the Republic of Cyprus where the Government of the Republic of Cyprus does not exercise effective control, the official controls provided for in Article 36 of that Regulation shall be performed in the areas of the Republic of Cyprus where the Government of the Republic of Cyprus does not exercise effective control by a control body designated pursuant to Article 39(1) of that Regulation.

In addition to the reports made to the competent authorities of the Republic of Cyprus pursuant to Article 5(2)(e) of Regulation (EC) No 882/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on official controls performed to ensure the verification of compliance with feed and food law, animal health and animal welfare rules, the body referred to in the first subparagraph shall report every six months to the European Commission on the implementation of its tasks under this Regulation.'.

Article 2

This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
