Article 1

The Convention on a common transit procedure is amended as follow s :

1) Article 11(4) is amended as follows:

'4. The office of departure may dispense with sealing if, having regard to other possible measures for identification, the description of the goods in the declaration data or in the supplementary documents makes them readily identifiable.'

2) Article 12, in the first paragraph the words 'of the copy No 4' are replaced by the words: 'of the copy No 4 or the transit accompanying document'.

3) Appendix I shall be replaced by the text set out in Annex I to this Decision;

4) Annexes I to V of Appendix I shall be replaced by the text set out in Annex II to this Decision;

5) Appendix II shall be replaced by the text set out in Annex III to this Decision;

6) Appendix III shall be replaced by the text set out in Annex IV to this Decision;

7) Annexes A1 to A13, B1 to B7, C1 and C2, and D1 to D6 shall be replaced by the text set out in Annex V to this Decision.

Article 2

1. This Decision shall apply from 1 July 2008.

2. The provisions of this Decision shall not apply to goods placed under the Common transit procedure before its date of application.

3. Articles 41, 41a, 116, 118(2) and 119 of Appendix I as modified by this Decision shall apply with effect from 1 July 2009.
